4 IDEAL BENEFITS OF PAINTABLE WALLPAPER

Textured, paintable wallpaper used to be a thing associated with old people’s homes, caravans and the smell of overcooked cabbage. But due to its versatility, adaptability and ease of application, it has recently been making something of a comeback. Expect, then, to be stroking and prodding the walls with increasing regularity in the coming months. To keep ahead of the game and abreast of growing trends, here are 5 IDEAL benefits of printable wallpaper.

A BLANK CANVAS

One of the main pleasures of paintable wallpaper is that if the wall is white and textured, it will look pristine and perfect without a drop of paint. However if you do wish to paint, then a textured, paintable wallpaper is entirely accommodating, too. It’s important to note that specifically made paint is not obligatory for such wallpaper, contrary to the advice of some. All in all, it grants a freedom to change your mind, colour wise, which traditional wallpaper does not.

NO NEED FOR PRIMER

To prime or not to prime, that is the question every DIYer defers to Google when undertaking a new painting project. Well, in the case of printable wallpaper, primer isn’t necessary. In fact, it’s to avoided, as it can fill in the ridges, something that would lead to the lessening of the textures of the paintable wallpaper. The perfect excuse to steer clear, then.

REIMAGINATION WITHOUT RENOVATION

If your paintable wallpaper suffers the usual surface damage, it can be pretty hard to get it looking shipshape again without a total overhaul. Paintable, in general though, can be repaired more easily, accommodating a little touch up with good grace. If you fancy larger, wholesale changes, for example a colour change, there’s no need to rip it all up and start again.

IT GLOSSES OVER IMPERFECTIONS

If your walls have holes from pictures or some cracks and other imperfections, you may of course want to cover them. Well, you could do worse than considering paintable wallpaper. Because of its thickness, it helps cover the defects and the discolorations with a stylish and elegant tactility.
