THE IDEAL RECIPE FOR HOT TODDY

With this cold and gloomy weather, National Hot Toddy Day (11th January) is a welcome way to default on Dry January. This traditional Northern drink is popular for a reason; the strong blend of whiskey, cloves, cinnamon, lemon juice and honey will banish those winter colds, awaken your sinuses and give you the verve to get through the coldest of January nights. . To celebrate this delicious drink, The Dubliner has the perfect Hot Toddy recipe to keep you warm:

INGREDIENTS

  • 50ml The Dubliner Irish Whiskey
  • 25ml lemon juice
  • 2 teaspoons of honey
  • boiling water
  • Cinnamon stick

Add 50ml The Dubliner Irish Whiskey, 25ml lemon juice, 2 teaspoons of honey to a warmed heatproof glass. Top up the glass with boiling water, stir until all the ingredients are dissolved and mixed. Garnish with a cinnamon stick.

IDEAL’S TIP: Add cloves and star anise to the garnish for an extra kick of aromatic flavours.
