4 IDEAL REASONS CHAMPAGNE IS SUITABLE FOR EVERY OCCASION

Limiting your champagne drinking for special occasions is like discovering the magic of the Mona Lisa, and then keeping it wrapped up in blankets and only taking a peep at it once a year. The majesty of the Mona Lisa should be on display year-round for the world to see, and the splendour of champagne should be uncorked at every occasion, not just for life’s most significant milestones.

People who only drink champagne at life’s seminal moments are missing out on one of life’s greatest pleasures. Champagne’s fizzy nectar is the ideal accompaniment for a whole host of situations. With this in mind, here are four ideal reasons why champagne is not just for special occasions.

IT ISN’T AS EXPENSIVE AS IT SEEMS

One of the main reasons people deny themselves champagne on a weekly basis is that they often perceive it as an expensive luxury. In reality, champagne doesn’t have to break the bank. Sure, the top brands will set you back, so perhaps reserve the Dom Pérignons for special occasions. There are, however, plenty of brands that offer a rich, full flavour for only a fraction more than a bottle of your favourite red. Moët & Chandon, Louis Roederer, Perrier Jouet, and Veuve Cliquot are all inexpensive options that can be enjoyed without breaking the bank.

IT PAIRS WITH ALMOST ANYTHING

Champagne is a versatile beverage that pairs remarkably well with a whole host of foods, including eggs, mushroom dishes, cheese, pasta, seafood, fish, pork, turkey, fruits, dark chocolate, pizza, barbecue flavoured dishes, spicy dishes, and curries. This means whatever you are putting together for dinner, or lunch, champagne is the perfect accompaniment to your meal.

IT MAKES ANY OCCASION FANCIER

Just because you have discovered the delights of drinking champagne on any occasion doesn’t mean everyone else has. Most people will still associate champagne with a feeling of class and privilege. Serving your favourite bottle of bubbles at your dinner party, friendly get-together, family celebration, or a quiet night in will instantly add a touch of class to the occasion. Just the sound of a bottle being popped is usually enough to get a cheer of excitement from those in attendance. Champagne is always a good idea, and always makes an event fancier, classier, and more enjoyable.

BECAUSE, WHY NOT?

When all is said and done, you don’t need a reason to enjoy a chilled, refreshing glass of champagne. Your own personal enjoyment is reason enough. Life is too short to spend it withholding things you enjoy, and let’s face it, champagne is something we all enjoy.

Whatever your reason for enjoying a glass (or bottle) of champagne, seize the moment and pour yourself a glass. Whether it is to celebrate life’s biggest moments or to bask in the smallest moments, champagne is there to be enjoyed, not to sit on the shelf gathering dust while life passes you by. Enjoy champagne at every occasion.
