Algarve, Portugal

The opportunities for beach and poolside fun are limitless; however, if you want a little more action for you and the kids, then why not take a trip to Aqualand, near Alcantarilha. It’s one of the largest water parks in Europe and has more than enough to keep you all occupied for the day.
Menorca, Spain
Menorca has the advantage of being far quieter than the neighbouring islands of Ibiza and Majorca. It is also known for being great for families looking to get some sun. Again, only a few hours from the United Kingdom, it a great option for a getaway.
Not only are there beautiful beaches at Binibeca Nou, but there is also the small but amazing Cala Marcarelleta. For the more adventurous kids, there is also kayaking along the coast.
Barcelona, Spain
Standing tall despite recent tragic events, this enchanting city has so much history that it is a great holiday destination for the family. There is amazing architecture from the talented Antonio Gaudi with buildings that have curved chimneys and other curious features.
You also have the huge Parc de Ciutadella that is great for picnics. It has a central zoo for the kids and intriguing structures and artefacts for the adults. There is also the delicious traditional food that you can sample at one of Barcelona’s many tapas bars. What makes Barcelona an ideal holiday destination is that you have this amazing city right alongside beautiful urban beaches. It really does tick all boxes.
Disneyland Paris, France
If you did manage to find a hidden treasure in your attic, then you might consider Disneyland Paris. Although it tends to be more expensive than other holidays, the fun, excitement and lifelong memories your family can share will more than make up for it.
Not only is there the main Disneyland Resort with its Space Mountain and Pirates of the Caribbean rides, but there is now also the Walt Disney Studios Park. The abundance of themed restaurants add that little extra sprinkling of magic to your meals.
Europa Park, Germany
If you want something that is exciting and fun, then the Europa Park is the place to go. It is one of Europe’s biggest theme parks, and like Disneyland, has lots of rides and roller coasters to enjoy. There is the Silver Star roller coaster that reaches a height of 73 meters and pulls 4g, or you can try the Blue Fire Megacoaster which goes from 0 to 100km/h in 2.5 seconds. A great choice for kids and adults alike.
